Edmund began his studies in both piano and pipe organ while a student at Magdalen College School, Oxford. His piano and organ teachers, Peter Smith and Malcolm Pearce, encouraged him to pursue music seriously, and this led to undergraduate studies at Robinson College, Cambridge, where he was organ scholar, studying the organ with the late David Sanger. At Robinson, his duties included accompanying and directing the college choir in regular liturgies as well as concerts and tours. After graduating with his bachelor's degree in music, Edmund spent a year as a lay clerk (professional singer) in the world-renowned choir of St. John's College, Cambridge under the direction of Christopher Robinson. During that year he was also invited to give two recitals on the college's Mander pipe organ.

Edmund subsequently studied at the Guildhall School of Music & Drama, where he received a master's degree in vocal performance with a second study in piano accompaniment. During his time in London, Edmund spent seven years as director of music at Rosslyn Hill Chapel, London's largest Unitarian congregation, organizing concerts, directing the volunteer choirs, and playing the three-manual Matthew Copley organ and Steinway D grand piano in weekly services.

Since 2012 Edmund has served as Assistant Organist at the Episcopal Cathedral of St. John, Albuquerque, where he accompanies the choirs and directs the Cathedral Cherubs, the music program's youngest ensemble. He appears as accompanist, singer, and solo organist on four of the Cathedral Choirs' recordings with Raven CD.

Since 2013 Edmund has been a member of the Performing Arts Faculty at Albuquerque Academy, where he teaches chorus to grades 8-12, accompanies the 6th and 7th grade choirs, and teaches classes in music theory, music technology, and voice.
